Green Jobs Forum – Get informed. Get inspired.

What: Green Jobs Forum and Exhibit Hall

When: Wednesday, December 3, 2014, 9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.

Where: Calgary Telus Convention Centre, South Building

  • Professionals looking to move ahead in their career
  • High school, college and university students looking for a career in the environmental sector.
  • Anyone looking for a challenging and rewarding career.
  • Speakers and green-collar professionals
  • Anyone interested in a green career

Why: The number of environmental professionals in Canada has increased tenfold over the past decade and a growing number of governments, businesses and consumers are committing themselves to conserving resources and reducing environmental impact. This means green jobs are constantly emerging in areas where they wouldn’t have existed before, and studies have shown that individuals interested in green jobs need more information about the types of jobs available.

On December 3rd, 2014, thousands of experienced professionals, recent graduates and individuals looking for a career change will gather and learn all there is to know about jobs in the new green economy. The Green Jobs Forum is Canada’s first comprehensive, multi-sector platform for business leaders, visionaries and teachers to connect and exchange their knowledge with the next generation. The goal is to help the environmental industry develop long-term and exciting career paths and ensure the right professionals to fill them.

Attendees will learn from inspiring and insightful presentations, interact with leaders and mentors in the private, public and non-profit sectors within the following green industry rooms:

  1. Resource Management
  2. Blueprint for Clean Capitalism
  3. The Alberta Energy Opportunity
  4. Creating Sustainable Cities
  5. The Future of Environmental Employment

The Exhibit Hall will host 30+ organizations to offer information about recruitment, job search help, environmental education, volunteering and networking.
